Hello all readers: I sustained suspension damage to my 52 year old 2.C.V. on January 12th 2018, going over a road speed Bump Block and then immediately hitting a huge pot hole on the road adjacent to this slowing down traffic hazard.

The next thing my nearside suspension drooped over dramatically scrapping the exhaust along the ground.

It happened only a mile from my house front so I was able to get my car home, but driving it up on my slope front was a chore.

Next day I was under the Car on my Back... absolute Freezing weather conditions examining the havoc... I had to face.

Eventually stripping all the exhaust system and the suspension cylinder, of the under side of my vehicle... a Chore to an 86 years of age veteran Citroen man.

The internal spring in the Cylinder had torn the end right of, and gunge every were, a real tough job for any enthusiast D.I.Y. man.... however I managed to re manufacture the Cylinder, and I also obtained a secondary internal spring which I cut into 2 segments of 3 coils , which I inserted to stiffen up the suspension... then I re welded the end cap back on the cylinder, as a extra Bonus , I obtained a tall Stainless Steel Office waste Paper collector Bin, which cut into to sections length wise, with an thin blade Angle grinder, and fabricated it around the cylinder as a second coat, I also made metal strapping bands to go around the cylinder to secure them with a bolt through .

I also did a similar operation and re manufactured a new exhaust system.... this has taken several days weather permitting , but I Triumphed yet again.... Ingenuity was the Mother of Invention... thats always been my Motto.

En gros, mais vraiment en GROS.........(les photos sont assez parlent)....notre ami à eu un rencontre malheureuse avec un ralentisseur & un nid de poule, pas mal de dégâts, réparer par un temps so British (ça veut dire , pas clément ) avec en bonus une poubelle de cuisine en inox découper pour "habiller" tout ça.
& ensuite, il à refait la ligne d’échappement...................son "devise" -----------"ingéniosité est la mère de l'invention" ou quelque chose comme ça, du Platon, un peu prés

Hello all readers.... Old2cvman... is back again... I am bewildered at the response, that my original Story generated..... Hence my photographic catalogue of events... which I felt would illustrate my predicament and how I rectified my sustained underside vehicular damage.

Some one thinks I dreamed up this situation, which is a ridiculous assumption, when reading response posts.... even at the ripe old age of just 86, I am still anxious to learn about Citroen 2 C.V. vehicles.

I bought my first 2.C.V. at Easter Holidays 1955.... see my attached picture.... over the period I ran this little Camionette, I extensively modified its appearance ... and travelled to Monte Carlo in it several times from Liverpool. England a distance of 1362 miles... in this it was a 40 hours drive none stop.... apart from 2 hours crossing the channel Dover to Calais.

As my married life progressed.. my taste in vehicles had to change to a family Car.. but I still had a Love affair with 2 C.V.s

I bought a couple of scrappers .. and set about making, my own personnel 2.C.V. carravanette ... see my attached photographs..... which I subsequently used for my Monte Carlo adventures later in Life... as well as being a Juggernaut Jockey for 50 years World wide.... so readers I am not just some Old Dam fool writing dribble stories ... every thing I present is accurate.
